    Pengiktirafan UEC Dari Sudut Pendidikan dan Akademik<\/strong>
    Dong Jiao Zong Menyeru Kerajaan Pakatan Harapan Supaya Bersungguh-sungguh Menunaikan Janji untuk Mengiktiraf UEC dalam Manifesto Pilihan Raya Umum<\/strong>

    Yang Amat Berhormat Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad dalam satu wawancara dengan akhbar harian Cina, telah menyatakan bahawa pengiktirafan Sijil Peperiksaan Bersama (Unified Examination Certificate\/UEC) Sekolah-sekolah Menengah Persendirian Cina hendaklah mempertimbangkan perasaan orang Melayu dan hendaklah juga menyelesaikan masalah jurang dalam pengagihan kekayaan negara terlebih dahulu. Sehubungan itu, Dong Zong dan Jiao Zong mengeluarkan kenyataan bersama seperti berikut:

    1.    Persekutuan Persatuan-Persatuan Lembaga Pengurus Sekolah Cina Malaysia (Dong Zong) dan Gabungan Persatuan Guru-Guru Sekolah Cina Malaysia (Jiao Zong) ingin menegaskan semula bahawa pengiktirafan UEC ialah satu isu pendidikan, dan isu pendidikan haruslah berbalik kepada perbincangan dari sudut pendidikan. Pengiktirafan UEC harus dikendalikan secara pragmatik, profesional dan rasional dari aspek akademik dan pembangunan modal insan negara.

    2.    Dong Zong dan Jiao Zong ingin mengingatkan sekali lagi bahawa pengiktirafan UEC merupakan antara janji dalam manifesto Pakatan Harapan pada pilihan raya umum. Setelah memenangi pilihan raya umum dan menerajui Kerajaan Persekutuan, maka kerajaan Pakatan Harapan seharusnya menunjukkan pemikiran baru dalam tadbir urus kerajaan untuk mengendalikan pengiktirafan UEC dan bersungguh-sungguh menunaikan janji untuk mengiktiraf UEC selaras dengan manifesto Pakatan Harapan pada pilihan raya umum.

    3.    Dong Zong dan Jiao Zong ingin menyatakan bahawa memandangkan Kementerian Pendidikan dalam proses pengendalian pengiktirafan UEC telah menubuhkan Pasukan Petugas Dasar UEC (PPDUEC) bagi mengkaji dan mengumpul maklumat UEC dan pandangan pelbagai pihak, yang kemudiannya akan mengemukakan laporan kepada Menteri Pendidikan untuk dibentangkan dalam Kabinet, maka semua pihak boleh mengemukakan pandangan mereka kepada Pasukan Petugas tersebut. Lantaran itu, mana-mana pihak pun tidak patut memanipulasikan sentimen politik dan kaum untuk mengganggu pengiktirafan UEC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Recognising the UEC from an Educational and Academic Perspective<\/strong>
    Dong Jiao Zong Urges Pakatan Harapan Government to Honour Their General Election Manifesto<\/strong>

    In response to the exclusive interview reported in today\u2019s newspapers, viz., the Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir posited that he had to consider the feelings of the Malays and resolve the huge gap in national wealth distribution first on the recognition of the United Examination Certificate (UEC), Dong Jiao Zong would like to make the following announcements:

    1.    United Chinese School Committees\u2019 Association of Malaysia (Dong Zong) and The United Chinese School Teachers\u2019 Association Of Malaysia (Jiao Zong), jointly they are called Dong Jiao Zong, would like to reaffirm that recognising the UEC is an educational issue, and that education should not be mingled with politics. Moreover, from a purely academic perspective, a pragmatic, professional and rational approach to the UEC recognition can help Malaysia cultivate and retain more talents.    

    2.     Dong Jiao Zong would like to remind the government that the UEC recognition is a promise made by Pakatan Harapan in its general election manifesto. We hope that, with Pakatan Harapan taking over the federal government currently, new thinking and governance should be installed, and promises credited, including the UEC recognition.

    3.    Dong Jiao Zong would like to assert that, since the Ministry of Education has set up a committee, Pasukan Petugas Dasar UEC (PPDUEC)  to collect and study the opinions about the UEC recognition from all walks of life, and to eventually compile these opinions into a report for discussion in the Cabinet. That said, all parties and stakeholders concerned can submit their comments to the said committee.
